SBR: Styrene-Butadiene Rubber

This is a copolymer of styrene and butadiene.

The most common contains approximately 23% styrene. Over half of the synthetic rubber in the world is SBR, which gives us an idea of its importance. It is easily synthesised and the raw materials come from petroleum.
